The King's Avatar: Ye Xiu's Team Happy

In fact, fans are rejoicing and everybody had been hyped since a concept trailer for The King's Avatar season 2 had been revealed highlighting explosive action scenes from Lord Grim. We also had a glimpse at some characters appearing in the story that had been previously introduced such as Chen Guo, Tang Rou, Han Wenqing, Wang Jiexi, Blue River, Huang Shaotian and of course Ye Xiu. In addition, we will get to know more characters from the novel getting introduced this time such as those from Glory Professional Alliance and its respective accounts that I had previously discussed in the following posts:

The King's Avatar Season 2 Formal Trailer

[Update] December 31, 2019: Few hours before 2019 ends, The King's Avatar treated us to a major surprise and it's the formal trailer its upcoming 2nd season which has been rescheduled for 2020 release.

The King's Avatar Anime Season 2 Conceptual Trailer

Aside from The King's Avatar Season 2 trailer, we also had the teaser visual for the anime.

The King's Avatar Anime Season 2 Poster

The teaser visual for The King's Avatar 2 features Ye Xiu, Happy Internet Cafe's ladies Chen Guo and Tang Rou, Han Wenqing and Sun Xiang in the background, and other members of the future Team Happy: Bao Rongxing (Steamed Bun Invasion), Mo Fan (Deception), Qiao Yifan (One-inched Ash), Luo Ji (Concealed Light), An Wenyi (Little Cold Hands), and Blue Rain's former team captain Wei Chen (Windward Formation). For novel readers, it may be familiar that these were the characters who stand and fight alongside Ye Xiu during the Challenger League and the 10th season of the alliance which is I believe will be shown too in the approaching The King's Avatar live-action drama starring Chinese superstar Yang Yang.

For details about the live-action adaptation, you may check the following posts that I had previously written:

If my theory is accurate, The King's Avatar season 2 may cover Ye Xiu's effort on searching for new members and building his team. It may even cover the Challengers League on which Team Happy head on for a battle against Ye Xiu's former team Excellent Era and its god - Sun Xiang.

The King's Avatar simply dropped so many big surprises yesterday as it also unveiled the poster for its upcoming movie adaptation "The King's Avatar: For the Glory" which is estimated to be released on August 2019.

In addition, few more conceptual images for the anime film had been unveiled as follows:

The King's Avatar movie will cover the early days of the Glory Professional Alliance which were based from the prequel chapters of the original novel titled ”The Summit of Glory” / “Top Glory” by its author Blue Butterfly. The chapters were divided into 10 parts as follows:

  • 十五岁的夏天 The Summer We Were Fifteen
  • 请君入瓮 Please, Sir, Enter the Urn
  • 最初的朋友,一生的对手 Friends from the Start, Opponents for Life
  •  那年花开 The Year the Flowers Blossomed
  • 双核时代 The Dual-Core Era
  • 决战之时 Showdown
  • 见证奇迹的时刻 The Time for Witnessing Miracles
  • 传承 Inheritance
  • 神话的开始 The Beginnings of Legend
  • 王朝与少年 Dynasty and Youth

The King's Avatar - The Summit of Glory

These chapters of The King's Avatar - The Summit of Glory will revolve around the early generations of Glory's professional players including Ye Xiu, Han Wenqing, Sun Zheping, Zhang Jiale, Wu Xuefeng, Lin Jie, Su Muqiu, and Wei Chen. Furthermore, we may also get the chance to see the beginning of the Golden Generation players such as Su Mucheng, Huang Shaotian, Yu Wenzhou, Zhang Xinjie, etc will be introduced at the end of the prequel chapters. I am also glad that the birth of the magician playstyle by Wang Jiexi is also included in this story.

Ye Xiu's journey back to Glory Professional Alliance after he had been banished due to some envious people's plot. This time around, he's planning to take the championship once again (he actually had a 3-time victory under his name) together with his new team in the making.

We're all hyped for The King's Avatar season 2 and I, myself couldn't even gauge how excited I am to see this anime comeback. Obviously, it's my first favorite Chinese anime and the show that introduced me to be a fan of Chinese animation. So, it really feels great to see Ye Xiu and his gang coming back for another anime adaptation as it feels like meeting an old friend once again.

Are you guys excited too for The King's Avatar return? Please let us know of your thoughts and if you would like to get updated news about Chinese animation, don't forget to subscribe to our newsletter.

Review: Top 10 Anime of Spring 2019 Lineup - Week No. 2

Posted by : zahid
Carole & Tuesday Guerrilla Performance
Carole & Tuesday Guerrilla Performance

Hey guys, we had enter the 2nd week of spring 2019 anime lineup and we finally see some precious gems unveiling itself. This week had been a fascinating one with so much drama, action, and more. Our list from week 1 had changed a bit but it’s almost exactly the same. So, let’s talk about which anime shows this season excel in the 2nd week of spring 2019 lineup and we may find some interesting title that may suit your taste.

Top 10 Anime of Spring 2019 Week 2

Not much changes had occur aside from minimal changes on our chart with Midnight Occult Civil Servants been replaced by Cinderella Nine which I believed to be spring 2019's best sports anime. We also got a new anime sitting on the top spot and it's no other than the singing duo Carole & Tuesday. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Fruits Basket 2019 remake were quite consistent and stable in the chart while Kono Oto Tomare! Sounds of Life had been overthrown from the top spot and dropped to 5th place this week. Nonetheless, it still feels great to see Hozoki finally entering the story.

For some news this week, we should enjoy as Demon Slayer had been announced to get a total of 26 episodes run. Well, isn't this news enticing and exciting for the viewers and it feels like we will get enough time to delve deeper into its story and world-setting.

Nonetheless, let's start the list of Top 10 Anime Shows from Spring 2019 lineup as follows:

Carole and Tuesday Episode 2 "Born to Run"

Carole and Tuesday Episode 2
Roddy taking the video of Carole & Tuesday performance
First in our list is Carole and Tuesday. Seriously, it only took a magical and musical scene to turn me on and have this anime forced its way to the top this week. Yes, that guerrilla performance by Carole and Tuesday on stage where so precious, heartfelt, magical and mesmerizing. Honestly, speak it’s just not Roddy who got himself shock and awe with our girl duo’s singing but the viewers as well, and I am one of them. One thing that made me liked Carole and Tuesday even more is the scenes where they always run after some kind of trouble. It somehow conveyed a positive and energetic vibes that take the stress away and made me look at life with positivity and enthusiasm.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Episode 2 "Trainer Sakonji Urokodaki"

Demon Slayer Episode 2
Nezuko assaulting a demon
Ufotable never fail to give us quality animation and amazing visually aesthetic experience. And such is the case with their new anime project Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. This is a pretty consistent anime when it comes to animation quality and the visuals. The sounds is also haunting and most of all, the drama is on point. I really love the voice actor behind the character of Tanjirou (Natsuki Hanae) and I am seriously delighted to found out that it’s the same person that gave us the voice for Arima Kousei (Your Lie in April), and Ken Kaneki (Tokyo Ghoul) which I think justifies how intense the drama in every words that Tanjirou pronounced. I think these were only some of the reasons why Demon Slayer is among the must-watch anime of spring 2019 chart.

Fruits Basket (2019) Episode 2 "They're All Animals!"

Fruits Basket (2019) Episode 2
Kyou befriending Tohru
This heartwarming and heartfelt story of Honda Tohru and the Soma guys really melt my heart and I couldn’t simply ignore how enthralling it is in so many aspects. The music is so touching and heart penetrating while the characters were lovable and relatable. I really love and appreciate that we finally get a glimpse on Kyo’s background story although it is very minimal and how he and Tohru were similar in few aspects.

Bungou Stray Dogs III Episode 2 "The God of Fire"

Bungou Stray Dogs 3 Episode 2
Dazai prepares for a killing intent
In Bungou Stray Dogs Season 3 Episode 2, we’re still on a flashback journey with Dazai and Chuuya as our main characters, and it is truly amazing to see their teamwork when they’re still part of the Port Mafia. There had been some pretty decent animation sequence that actually caught me breathless. Yes, when Chuya makes a move, one should expect for something magnificent to happen while I am really delighted to witness a little darker side of Dazai. However, there’s still a lot of conspiracies going on in the story which is quite confusing but somehow tolerable especially with the fact that we are still on the 2nd week of the season.

Kono Oto Tomare! Episode 2 "Having What It Takes"

Kono Oto Tomare! Episode 2
Hozoki and Chika's first encounter
Alright, in our 5thplace is Kono Oto Tomare! which had been our no. 1 last week. I’ll say the quality is there, it’s actually very consistent and the story is really amazing as usual with the entrance of our main female character in the story. However, I still think that it is quite a lackluster and could give us something more. Though, it seems that the anime had still too many surprises to give us and I am truly amazed with how promising the story is. Now, I just want to delve deeper into Hozoki’s background. I am also moved by Chika’s determination and the backstory of his friends. I really felt that they’re all special in their own ways.

One Punch Man 2 Episode 2 "The Human Monster"

One Punch Man 2 Episode 2
Genos vs Sonic
Saitama’s encounter with Blizzard and the jaw-dropping fight scenes of Genos and Sonic. That was one hell of an amazing animation sequence. Finally, we get a glimpse at this season’s main bad guy – Garou. I seriously hate him just like the way I hated him when he was first introduced in the manga. Nonetheless, he is quite the O.P. character but quite not convincing. Nonetheless, he is still an interesting character to follow especially when he goes hero hunting as the story progress. In fact, I saw some memes online comparing Garou as the Hero Hunter to Stain – the Hero Killer from My Hero Academia. There are actually similarities among them but I think the time is not ripe yet to compare them especially that we know about Stain’s background deeper than Garou. Nonetheless, One Punch Man Season 2 Episode 2 finally introduced the main villain which means that story had been set into motion and we shall see some more progress in the next few weeks.

Magmel of the Sea Blue Episode 2

Magmel of the Sea Blue Episode 2
Inyou acting like a gentleman and a savior
The second episode of Magmel of the Sea Blue is quite interesting and I am somehow pissed off with some of its minor characters. Anyway, I am really excited to learn more about Inyou and how overwhelming his power is. He is quite an interesting guy and he really reminds me of those OP anime characters but were staying low profile just like TatsuyaShiba and even Saitama. It seems that there’s more to Magmel than just its shady plot of exploiting an unknown continent. In fact, I thought that its theme is more human, it shows about human morality and point out a certain view showing that sometimes humanity becomes evil in pursue of further knowledge and development.

Magi’s Grandson Episode 2 "The Unconventional New Student"

Magi's Grandson Episode 2
Never offend the prince' friend ^^
Shin finally arrived in his school and meet up with few people who’ll be part of his journey. Furthermore, he simply revealed another awesome part of him which makes him an overwhelming character this season. I dare say this again, he’s like Rimuru Tempest (which makes me excited for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime 2nd season on 2020) at some occasion simply proving how OP he is and still runs with it nonchalantly. One thing is that, he’s quite the normal guy I think especially when he shows affection toward girls. He’s also not the typical main character that people have the freedom to bully because he is not taking any sh*t at all from any bad guys. I really enjoyed how he and the crown prince gets along like brothers.

Fairy Gone Episode 2 "Wolf Collar and Swan Feathers"

Fairy Gone Episode 2
Marlya's fairy

We’d been treated to some amazing animation sequence and fight scenes this week with Fairy Gone 2nd episode. Though, we’re still caught in the middle of confusing thoughts if we were to look at Fairy Gone’s current progress in general. The story looks dull and slow but I still have high hopes for it. Nonetheless, the quality of animation is top notch and it seems that the character development is being built slowly but perfectly.

Cinderella Nine Episode 2 "Can or Can't"

Cinderella Nine Episode 2
The girls finally found a practice place

We had to bid farewell to Midnight Occult Civil Servants in our Top 10 this week as the best sports anime of the season stole its spot. Yes, Cinderella Nine is pretty entertaining to follow and I could feel its ambiance in every moment. The drama, action, fun, and bonds among these female characters were simply adorable and inspiring at the same time. I am not really into sports anime but I have high hopes for this anime and hoping that it’ll be an amazing show to follow as the season’s progress.

Episode of Sarazanmai, Midnight Occult Civil Servants, Bokuben and Hitori Bocchi
Honorable Mentions: Sarazanmai, Midnight Occult Civil Servants, Bokuben and Hitori Bocchi

Meanwhile, among my honorable mentions this week were We Never Learn: Bokuben (personally I think it’s the funniest anime of the season). Hitori Bocchi is also a fun one on which I could relate myself with Bocchi (that’s from another introvert’s perspective). I also get myself delve deeper into Sarazanmai and find it quite entertaining despite of how bizarre it is. Midnight Occult Civil Servants is also fun but I think I’ll need more episodes to finally have its plot sink into my system.

So, that ends our list of top 10 anime from spring 2019 lineup week 2 and let’s all prepare for the 3rdweek of the season and found out which anime shall enter the Top 10. Please let us know of your thoughts or which anime do you think should be included next by leaving a comment below. [VIRAL] Black Bulls on Fire: Asta, Luck and Magna Rush to Save Finral

Posted by : zahid
What's hot? Yes, that's definitely the question of the anime community after Black Clover broke the internet this week with its 80th episode which gave goosebumps and epic vibes to the show's fans and haters alike.

Black Clover: Asta, Luck and Magna vs Langris

Black Bulls were on fire this week as one of their members - our space/portal guy Finral were aggravated by his younger brother Langris during the competition of the Royal Knights selection. When Finral hideous and evil younger brother eventually attempted to finished him off, members of Black Bulls were infuriated and rushed to his rescue and it simply made the most epic scene of Black Clover so far.

In this video clip, we had seen a de javu effect when Asta, Luck and Magna attacked Langris at full-speed and power save Finral while Charmy is unveiled that horrible infuriated expression. On the side, Noel rush to Finral while Vanessa and Gauche were also prepared to attacked Langris anytime and back up Asta, Luck, and Magna's assault on Langris.

Naruto: Kakashi and other jounins stopped Neji from landing the killing blow on Hinata
Naruto: Kakashi and other jounins stopped Neji from landing the killing blow on Hinata

In fact, this is not the first time that such a grand encore in an anime show. Before such epicness took place in Black Clover episode 80, we had seen this first in Naruto when jounins restraint Neji from dropping that finishing blow on Hinata.

Black Clover Anime

If my memory serves me right, Black Clover had quite a mixed to negative reception upon its release on 2017 though personally, I fall in love with its trailer. However, as time goes by, it actually gained loyal supporters and avid followers, both the anime only viewers and the manga readers. I am actually one of those people and I am really thankful that I endure its mediocre start because as of now, Black Clover is definitely a precious gem to follow.

JX3: Chivalrous Hero Shen Jianxin's Promo Video, Opening & Ending Theme Unveiled

Posted by : zahid
JX3 Chivalrous Hero Shen Jianxin Chinese Anime
When comedy and actionc collides - that is the premise of the new Chinese anime "Chivalrous Hero Shen Jianxin" which recently aired its pilot episode few days ago. An action filled yet hilarious anime filled with peculiar obscurity, JX3: Chivalrous Hero Shen Jianxin is an exciting and fun donghua to follow starting this April. In fact, this reminds me of Everlasting Immortal Firmament and it seems like it's going to be another crack Chinese anime with heavy oxymoron and out of this world humor.

The promo video for Chivalrous Hero Shen Jianxin which had been uploaded and subbed by Guodong Subs team on YouTube looks promising and absurd. I have to confessed, I seriously laughed big time while watching it and I felt like imagining how funny and crack this would be if the actual episodes were out.

The animation seems to be pretty decent and I am craving for more of JX3: Chivalrous Hero Shen Jianxin after watching its opening theme and ending theme which were seems vividly enjoying.

The first episode is already out and an English subbed had been uploaded by Guodong Subs on their channel. If you're a fellow fan of Everlasting Immortal Firmament or up for such an obscure but fun Chinese anime to follow, I highly recommend that you add JX3: Chivalrous Hero Shen Jianxin to your watch-list this season.

Review: Top 10 Anime of Spring 2019 Lineup - Week No. 1

Posted by : zahid
Kono Oto Tomare! Episode 1- Kudo Chika
Kono Oto Tomare!'s deliquent heartthrob - Chika Kudo
It's finally here. The spring 2019 anime lineup had officially kicked off two weeks ago and I am seriously shock in awe with how amazing this lineup is. Yeah, this is kind of a bold remarks especially that the season just started with only one or two episodes out yet. However, the quality of animation, the stunning story, good acting, the feels, and awesome visuals were simply enough to satisfy me and made me crave for more - and spring 2019 anime lineup successfully fit on it.

Yu Alexius: Top 10 Anime of Spring 2019 Lineup - Week No. 1

In line with this, I came up with this weekly anime chart by Yu Alexius Anime Portal that I shall post on our blog's Facebook page as well as other social outlets to share our thoughts on the best anime that aired on that specific week. Furthermore, a short comments about these anime shows shall be posted here in our blog, featuring the anime shows of the season with the best episode that aired in every week. So, let's start our list for Spring 2019 best nime - Week 1 as follows:.

Kono Oto Tomare! (Stop This Sound!) Episode 1 "New Club Members"

Kono Oto Tomare! (Stop This Sound!) Episode 1
Kudo and Kurata having an argument
My first thought about Kono Oto Tomare! is that why do we have another 'four-glass' senpai here? Nonetheless, the anime really started strong and gave us an amazing opening although I felt bad not having the chance to listen to the sound of the Koto in the very first episode. Anyway, the opening theme is catchy and fun to listen at. The characters were seriously interesting and I wish to befriend them if they happened to exist in real life. I felt some kind of de javu with Kurata, I mean I had been in his shoes and really shares a lot of similarities with him like messing up in the most important moment. Kudo is such a boyfriend material (said by Irish) and yes, having a bad boy join the Koto Club makes the plot even more exciting. I say the anime itself is promising and didn't left behind with the great reception of the manga and with decent animation and story pacing as well as consistent quality visuals and animation - this could be a potential anime of the year. Story-wise, I felt like I am meeting a long time friend while watching Kono Oto Tomare! with some life advises, In the end, this anime really feels so good for the heart and produced positive ambiance in general. Not to mention, I could see a little similarity between Kono Oto Tomare! and my favorite Kids on the Slope.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Episode 1 "Cruelty"

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Episode 1
Nezuko protecting Tanjirou
On our 2nd spot is actually my personal favorite and my most anticipated anime of the season - Demon Slayer. Ufotable is back at it again, giving us an quality animation which is visually aesthetic and feels like a great piece of art. I think one of the strongest point of Kimetsu no Yaiba aside from its beautiful animation is the cast acting. The moment that I heard Tanjiro's intense dramatic scene in the first episode of Demon Slayer, I did have a goosebumps. Too much emotion in those span of time and it really feels heavy and bursting out. The fight scenes is beyond beautiful with visuals that really looks stunning. Maybe what this episode lacking is more fight scenes but I think it's acceptable since it is still building the story and setting up the ambiance for the show.

Fruits Basket (2019) Episode 1 "I'm Going"

Fruits Basket (2019) Episode 1
Fruits Basket heroine - Tohru Honda
This is my first time to set my sight upon this masterpiece as I wasn't able to watch the original anime. However, I'll say the reboot is truly an amazing one with beautiful animation, visuals and character designs. What I love about Fruits Basket remake is that the story is still heavily invested with bursting emotions and heartfelt scenes.

Magmel of the Sea Blue Episode 1

Magmel of the Sea Blue Episode 1
The rescuer Inyou rescuing a lost soul
Here's one of my personal favorite, I think Inyou is kind of overwhelming here. The plot is quite interesting and the animation is decently done. What really puzzles me is the intriguing world of Magmel - yeah the new continent that appeared and is more mysterious than any ambiguity. I am craving to learn more about it - its ecosystem, secrets and origin.

Carole and Tuesday Episode 1"True Colors"

Carole and Tuesday Episode 1
Carole and Tuesday's first IG post

Occupying our fifth place is the relaxing and fun story of Carole and Tuesday. This is rather girly show but definitely amazing. The animation is very beautiful with astounding visuals for a futuristic story set in Mars. The plot may be cliche but executed beautifully, and there's the music - probably the anime's strongest point aside from its theme which revolves around friendship and dreams. Oh my, many viewers will surely relate themselves with these two adorable ladies we have here.

One Punch Man Season 2 Episode 1 "The Hero's Return"

One Punch Man Season 2 Episode 1
Saitama with a hair in his first encounter with King

We have one of the biggest anime title of the year on the 6th place. Well, the season simply started and we still have several weeks for Saitama sensei to punch his way up to the top. It just really happened that One Punch Man season 2 first episode is above average but were outrank by those anime titles that I had mentioned above. This anime is always energetic as ever and hilarious as always. Aside from the fact that the animation had dropped but it wasn't that bad and I think J.C. Staff is doing just fine animating the anime from MadHouse.

Bungou Stray Dogs Season 3 Episode 1 "Dazai, Chuuya, Fifteen Years Old"

Bungou Stray Dogs Season 3 Episode 1
Chuya and Dazai first meeting
Dazai and the rest of the gang is back with Bungou Stray Dogs third season. After the fun ride from Bungou Stray Dogs Movie: Dead Apple, I think the anime had returned with a strong plot and may take us back to Dazai days in the Port Mafia. In fact, we did received 2 episodes in the anime's season 3 premiere and I am seriously delighted with. One is simply showing us Doppo and how great of a leader material is. Meanwhile, the second revealed the first encounter between Dazai and his old colleague from Port Mafia, Chuya.

Fairy Gone Episode 1 "Ash Covered Girl"

Fairy Gone Episode 1
Free Underbar and his fairy in action
Alright, so here's another anime that I am seriously excited to watch but I felt a little bit disappointed. It's not bad but I felt like I wasn't satisfied with its first episode. The music is really amazing and definitely one of its strongest element while the animation is beautifully done - something I should expect from P.A. Works. The action part of Fair Gone is top-notch but maybe I'm still craving for more that's why I felt like ranting a little bit here. Nonetheless, the anime is very promising and I just only wish it won't be the same as Sirius the Jaeger which ended half-heartedly.

Magi's Grandson Episode 1 "A Babe in the Woods Goes to the Capital"

Magi's Grandson Episode 1
Shin Walford showing his genius
If this anime may really feel so familiar with you, then I just had the same de javu that I always encounter with isekai genre. Yeah, Magi's Grandson gave me a That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime version 2.0 ambiance but somehow I think it's too early to judge the anime. Nonetheless, I am loving this anime because once again, we having a very OP main character and the animation isn't bad either. There are interesting characters and the plot also looks promising.

Midnight Occult Civil Servants "Angels and Tengu Above the Shinjuku Skyline"

Midnight Occult Civil Servants Episode 1
Shinjuku Ward Office's Nighttime Regional Relations Department staffs on duty
This is an anime that I think is pretty average and could stay on the safe place as long as it doesn't gets bad. The animation and its story in general is good and to be fair I did enjoy its concept. The main character is quite interesting as well as his colleages. In fact, Midnight Occult Civil Servants reminded me of Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens which aired last January 2018 and I love this similarity on their ambiance.

That ends our list of 10 best anime of spring 2019 week 1. However, among our honorable mentions this week were Bokuben (We Never Learn) - I so love this and the humor is on point. Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine also up for a good start as well as Shoumetsu no Toshi and Senryuu Girl.

So, which anime this spring caught your attention? Please let us know by leaving a comment below.

Providence at Dawn Illustrator Unveiled a 100-second PV

Posted by : zahid
Providence at Dawn

Li Ming Zhi Shen Yi (Providence at Dawn) - A science fiction where Earth had been destroyed once due to an exterior force, a foreign object from space but also bring forth a new era to humanity making leaving in the sky possible and producing new advanced technology that the world had never seen.

This may had been the story that we, Chinese anime viewers shall see IF Providence at Dawn anime project had become a reality. This is a very exciting premise filled with drama and mecha fights from a futuristic approach. However, Providence at Dawn anime project failed to get a funding and it really feels bad to see this one go. Fortunately, we were able to take a glimpse at the world of Province at Dawn with a 100-second promo video provided by its illustrator.

The PV features a supposed to be scenes if the anime had been realized which were based from the story of Providence at Dawn light novel series. The entire PV looks pretty interesting with amazing arts and melodramatic atmosphere befitting an advanced-civilization era which were at the verge of despair.

Providence at Dawn Synopsis

This world has been destroyed once before. In the year 2060, a huge meteor landed in the center of the North Pole causing global disasters, but also bringing opportunities for evolution through "The Crystal From Other Side". Now, humans make their home in the sky in the city of Utopia. But the sky is filled with endless crusades. The Number 85 District, the largest of the sky fortresses, slowly repels the attacks from invading alien forces and terrorists in the shadows. Lu, a young orphan, joins the crew of the Flying Dolphin at the right time. The "Original Impact of Doomsday" symbolizes the beginning of a new world. This is the best and the most beautiful time in the history - until he appears... Source: MU

Nonetheless, I am still wishing for Providence at Dawn to successfully get an anime adaptation in the near future. With such an amazing plot and pretty arts, this could be another hit Chinese anime that the anime industry has yet to see.

The Best Anime of Winter 2019 Anime Lineup - Final Impression

Posted by : zahid
The Rising Shield Hero Anime
The Rising Shield Hero Anime
The spring anime lineup this 2019 had officially gone rampaging few days ago and since it's April, I am personally expecting for this lineup to be bigger and hotter than the rest of the year based on my own perspective. Nonetheless, before I got myself drown with the spring 2019 anime lineup, I shall give my final impression post about the previous season - the winter which had been seriously cold - connotative and denotative sense.

Yes, the winter season had been a cold one on own experience per se, because I did encounter possibly one of the most disgusting anime character ever. Furthermore, I'll say it is quite the bumpy ride but definitely entertaining and exciting to follow. So, to get to the point immediately, here's the best anime from winter 2019 lineup from Yu Alexius Anime Portal.

First in our list is The Rising Shield Hero. Believe it or not, I did have a heavy dosage of emotional outburst because of this anime. I love Naofumi and how innocent he is during the first episode and it's truly amazing how his unfortunate experience molded his personality into a practical, opportunist and bold bravado. In the end, his journey is really a dramatic one, that I believe every viewers must have wish to enter the story and help our shield hero against his misfortune or shall I say, wicked plot of the antagonist. I dare say, that The Rising Shield Hero had been an amazing show because of an effective villain. Yeah, Aultcray and Malty is such an effective evils especially the latter that we, as viewers were able to sympathize with Naofumi, thus gaining our empathy and for the evils to gain the hatred of the fans. Definitely, Malty's reputation as one of the most hated anime characters had been cemented in anime history. Nonetheless, the Rising Shield Hero had been a fun ride filled with funny conversation (especially my favorite Filo-chan), decent fight scenes, heart-pumping drama, and the typical isekai-cliche.

MAPPATezuka Productions' Dororo 2019
MAPPA & Tezuka Productions' Dororo
Next in our list is Dororo, yes this anime that both gave me goosebumps due to its dark atmosphere in the beginning and those insane fighting sequence. Nonetheless, I was quite naive when I thought that Dororo is the young lad in the story only to find out that it's the cutesy adorable heroine and that Hyakkimaru is the cursed child in the beginning of the story. Those were just some small misunderstanding that I had with Dororo but in the end, I've grown to love it and eventually enjoyed every piece of it. I love Hyakkimaru's gradual character development and Dororo's cheerful personality. They really made a pretty decent pair and honestly speaking, the whole world will be a better place if each and everyone of us can be like Hyakkimaru and Dororo. The day to day adventure of the pair and their encounters with demons were both dramatic, stunning, and somehow heart-wrenching. Looking at the bigger picture, the anime have great promises especially in the latter part of the story as we're now entering its second cour.

The Morose Mononokean Season 2

Pierrot Plus' The Morose Mononokean II
Pierrot Plus' The Morose Mononokean II
On third spot is The Morose Mononokean. I am not listing this anime for the 3rd place because it's very similar with Natsume's Book of Friends (which is one of my favorite anime), instead I have seen its growth from the rather boring first season of the anime last 2016. There had been some significant characters and story development as if we're finally seeing a piece of its real plot. Furthermore, Abeno and Ashiya's relationship is going stronger despite of how rough they might be towards each other. The comedy is there, the drama is quite heartfelt, a slight dosage of action is also impeccable. Now, The Morose Mononokean became so special for me because of its life lessons which is uplifting and enjoyable at the same time.

Mob Psycho 100 II

Bones' Mob Psycho 100 II
Bones' Mob Psycho 100 II
Mob Psycho 100 II sits at the fourth place. People might be surprise this anime is just on the fourth spot in our list? Personally, I am not a big fan of the series but I do appreciate and recognize how awesome it is and the depth of its plot. This anime had been on a league of its own and this season alone had a current score of 9.00 at MyAnimeList community showing critical reception from its viewers. Personally, I enjoyed how unique and peculiar Mob Psycho 100 is whether its characters or the concept or theme its tackling. It is a perfect example of revolutionary anime in today's generation which is filled with too much cliche.

The Promised Neverland

CloverWorks' The Promised Neverland
CloverWorks' The Promised Neverland
The Promised Neverland occupied the fifth spot in our list. This is a rather peculiar but not very strange anime with younger characters specifically children as the main protagonists. The Promised Neverland gave us an exciting ride filled with too much suspense and drama. The anime had been a decent ride on unveiling secrets with effective pacing, sound, and aesthetic animation and having interesting characters to follow.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War

A-1 Pictures' Kaguya-sama Love is War
A-1 Pictures' Kaguya-sama Love is War
We also have Kaguya-sama: Love is War. Now, this is what I call fun and exciting while having a mind boggling mystery. Seriously speaking, this anime's plot is present in real world and I believed that its familiarity with the viewers feeling made it a relatable and enjoying anime to follow. Of course, we may not have the brilliance of the two main characters from the series but we seriously share the similar thoughts and principles about love. In this aspect, Kaguya-same: Love is War had been an entertaining and satisfying anime in a seasonal lineup filled with action-adventure shows.

My Roommate is a Cat

Zero-G's My Roommate is a Cat
Zero-G's My Roommate is a Cat
My Roommate is a Cat is possibly the winter's 2019 cinnamon roll. I am glad that anime is able to present a great relationship from a different perspective. And how a series of coincidence or circumstances lead you into new encounters and made you realize that there's more to life that what its usually seems like. This anime is so fluffy and definitely the hidden gem of the season.

The Quintessential Quintuplets

Tezuka Productions' The Quintessential Quintuplets
Tezuka Productions' The Quintessential Quintuplets
The Quintessential Quintuplets share the same elements with other harem anime aside from the fact that its humor and drama is its harmony and easy to follow plot. Yes, this anime thrives in its simplicity and in the end, it's a show that will entertain you and give you smile or even made you laugh at the conclusion of every episode.

3D Girlfriend 2nd Season

Hoods Entertainment' 3D Girlfriend 2nd Season
Hoods Entertainment' 3D Girlfriend 2nd Season
3D Girlfriend 2nd Season is in our 8th place. This is another uncommon but generic plot. When two different worlds collide - an otaku and the popular girl in the school became in a relationship, this is decent approach to the romance genre despite of being saturated with common love story. 3D Girlfriend 2nd Season continue with a good animation and amazing story.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

8bit's That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
8bit's That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
For the leftover anime, I truly enjoyed That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Despite of being so simple, I really loved it because it always satisfy me. I felt like it always go straight ahead to what I want it to be. That is why Rimuru and his gang of monsters and human friends had been my favorite leftover anime of the season. Nonetheless, I am excited for this anime's second season which is slated on 2020.

Run with the Wind

Production I.G's Run with the Wind
Production I.G's Run with the Wind
Run with the Wind is quite a surprise and fun to watch. Production I.G. seriously champion on giving us quality animation and sports-theme anime which really offer a delightful drama and exciting plot to follow. I'll say this is one of the hidden gems of 2018 and I'm glad that I was able to discover it during the time that it is still airing.

Sword Art Online III: Alicization

A-1 Pictures' Sword Art Online III
A-1 Pictures' Sword Art Online III
Next is Sword Art Online III: Alicization. It's a fun ride with the normal drama and action that we're familiar with from SAO. However, something really pissed me off about this anime and apparently, I find some of the episodes at the latter part to be boring despite of how strong its opening is. Nonetheless, Sword Art Online III is scheduled to return for Alicization Arc's third cour and I hope it'll be decent but I'm not saying that this season is bad, it's just kind of average at best on my end for now.

Hinomaru Sumo

Gonzo's Hinomaru Sumo
Gonzo's Hinomaru Sumo
Hinomaru Sumo is quite an educating one and I'd learn some tricks and information about the world of sumo wrestlers and how amazing it could be.

In line with seasonal best anime list, we have here some interesting reads from other anime seasons this 2019 including the final impression review for spring 2019 lineup, and the mid-season ranking for summer 2019 as follows:

To conclude this post, Winter 2019 anime lineup is a good season though there are many weak points and only few shows truly stand out. In fact, there are some titles that I am quite disappointed especially with A Certain Magical Index, and Boggiepop since these two were among my personal favorites but I wasn't satisfied with its progress. Nonetheless, the season had been wrapped up and we are now having the spring 2019 anime season which I believed is going to be a strong one.
